FAQ

Let’s have a look at some frequently asked questions we come across time and again.

What is meditation?

Meditation is that state of being in which a person connects to God, Universal Energy or Consciousness (the names are numerous, the essence–one and the same), resulting in inner joy and bliss, peace, and ultimate satisfaction. Your soul becomes your own teacher (Guru). You become balanced and start to live in the present.

Meditation means to go within yourself and to recognize your soul.  The more you meditate, your soul-feeling increases, your identity itself becomes the soul and you live your life according to its guidance.

His Holiness Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji teaches us Samarpan Meditation, that is a simple technique which He has obtained from various Gurus in the Himalayas during His spiritual quest after Truth. In the upcoming event in Nepal, Swamiji will be enlightening us on this meditation technique.

Why do I need to meditate? What are the benefits?

Meditation connects yourself to your soul and to the Universal Consciousness. You experience joy, peace, inner bliss and immense satisfaction. When you go within yourself, your soul becomes your guide, resulting in a life that is good for you.

Studies and tests reveal that meditation is proven to be beneficial in reducing stress and anxiety, and to promote emotional and mental health. It enhances self-awareness, lengthens the attention span, has the potential to reduce age-related memory loss and to help fight addictions.

Meditation has numerous physical health benefits as well that include improvement of sleep disorders, heart diseases, blood pressure and chronic pain. One’s overall well-being improves, you find balance within yourself and this positively affect the way you do life.

Can I live a normal life in society and meditate?

Yes. You can practice meditation without having to leave society, and live your life as usual.

Do I need to change my lifestyle or habits in order to do meditation?

No. You do not need to change anything. As you meditate regularly, you align yourself with your inner voice – your soul, and receive guidance from within regarding everything in life. This is not forced. It just happens. Those things that are not meant to be in your life will naturally fall away or stop, and whatever is good for you shall remain.

Can I still follow my own religion and beliefs?

Yes, you can still continue to follow your religion and/or your own beliefs. Meditation is above religion, caste, social status, language or any other factors. It connects you with your soul and your inner religion. Therefore, you do not have to leave anything behind in order to meditate. Meditation can be added to your daily routine.
